‘Temporary’ by Sarina Bowen & Sarah Mayberry

‘Temporary’ is flirty, funny, sexy and light-hearted book. Our heroine and hero for the book are Grace Kerrington and Callan Walker. Grace is smart, hardworking, down-to-earth and responsible. She works for a temp agency and when she gets a temp position in Walker Holdings, which has a potential to turn into a permanent position, she jumps at the opportunity. Living in NY is expensive and adding the expenses caused by being a legal guardian of a teenager, Grace needs more stable income. When Victoria Walker, who is the CEO of Walker Holdings, gives Grace the task of packing up her brother Jack’s belongings, calculate the value of his assets and find the fastest way to liquidate them, Grace thinks it will be easy and she will have the job for sure. What she cannot foresee is how hard dealing with Callan Walker be. Callan Walker is the definition of selfish and playboy. Having a controlling, manipulative, evil mother, who cares nothing but work pushes him to live his life as a party boy. However, when he learns that his uncle Jack passed away, his mother cremated him without a funeral and now hired a stranger to sort his belongings, he decides to go to NYC and make sure everything happens according to Jack’s wishes.

From the moment Grace and Callan meets, their chemistry is off the charts. Because Callan has his own agenda he does everything to seduce Grace but Grace is fighting the attraction considering she needs the job and Callan is the son of her future boss. When Grace starts to get to know the real Callan, it gets harder for her to resist his charms. I loved the way story builds up and how it is funny one minute, steamy or emotional the next.

‘Temporary’ was a great story, which is funny, flirty and emotional. I enjoyed the dual points of view because it helps the reader get into the story more and get to know Grace and Callan better. I’m a Sarina Bowen fan and I read all her books. However, this was my first Sarah Mayberry and it won’t be my last. I think they did a great job together and I am hoping to read more from this duo in the future.
