A Kiss for a Kiss is the last book of the All In series and this book was an amazing end to a great series. I am thankful to Helena Hunting for giving us a chance to meet with these two amazing characters. While reading A Secret for a Secret, I was wondering if we will ever get a chance to read Hanna and Jack’s story because since the moment they met their chemistry was sizzling, and here it is 🙂
Jake Masterson is the GM of Seattle’s NHL team. After his wife walked out on him, he raised his daughter Queenie all by himself and while doing this he walked away from his career as a hockey player. Now that Queenie is getting ready to marry her one and only, Ryan Kingston who is the goalie of the team Jack manages, it is time for wedding preparations to start. The good thing is Jake has the perfect partner for the job, Hanna, King’s older sister/momster. Sounds amazing right? NOT! There is this itsy-bitsy problem, they are attracted to each other, and spending too much time together doesn’t help it at all. Since there is already too much of a family drama and weird dynamics within the family, they have been dancing around each other. Even though they did their best to resist the attraction, there comes a point when they couldn’t any longer. It all starts as a fling. They’re both attractive, mature adults who enjoy each other’s company so why not benefit fully and enjoy their limited time together. When the wedding is over so as their fling and everyone will go back to their lives, which is on the opposite side of the country. Till the end, everything goes according to plan. However, fast-forward three months, they have a surprise bun in the oven. I loved Hanna; I think she is one of the most relatable heroines I ever read. She is a strong, sweet, smart, and independent woman. When she learns that she is pregnant, she knows this is her last chance to be a mother the way she is supposed to. When she delivers the news to Jake, his first response is not good. I can understand that though. He was left alone with a baby girl once before, so he has too many scars and trust doesn’t come so easily. But it is not so much different for Hanna, she was also burned by love and was left alone once before. I loved how slowly but surely, they built up their relationship and learn to trust one another. They helped each other to overcome their insecurities and handicaps. I loved how sweet their relationship was and I would love to have a partner like Jake. Even though I might have made it sound easy their journey had some up and downs thanks to family dynamics and old scars.
For me this book is a second chance story but not about getting a second chance on a relationship, it is about getting a second chance in everything Jack and Hanna lost in their life and/or yearn, a second chance for a happier life. Don’t miss out on this sweet, heartwarming, and fun read 🙂
P.S. Thank you Ladies’ Gang for being as amazing as always, I love and adore them and another thank you goes to Bishop for cracking me up through the book 🙂
