‘In It to Win It’ by Kelly Jamieson

Second book of Kelly Jamieson’s Wynn Hockey series is here 🙂 For the ones who are not familiar with the series, Wynn family is a hockey dynasty. The Wynn family is full of drama and all members of the family are involved with hockey one way or another. First book of the series was ‘Play to Win’ it was Theo and Lacey’s family and thanks to them we get to know the main characters in this book as well. This book is featuring Wynn family’s bad boy Jean Paul, aka JP, Wynn and Taylor Hart, best friend of Lacey.

I hated JP on the first book; because he stole his brother’s girlfriend and kept acting like a cocky asshole. However, after reading JP’s interaction with Lacey and Theo at the end of the first book, I start wondering if the bad boy persona is just a show he puts for the world to see. After the whole stealing his brother’s girlfriend debacle, he is determined to stay away from taken women and all the trouble that comes with it. However, thanks to Taylor and her ex Manny, this determination went down the drain on Theo and Lacey’s wedding. Even though, Taylor is not with Manny anymore when Manny attacks JP, everyone thinks ‘OMG! He did it again.’ He always takes responsibility for his bad behaviors and even though they always have reasoning behind his actions, nobody questions it. In everyone’s eyes it is always because JP is a bad boy. For the first in his life instead of his behavior, someone looks at the reasoning behind his actions. My heart ached for him because of the way he constantly beats himself up when he makes mistakes and he is the one, who cannot forgive himself. As for Taylor, she annoyed the shit out of me. The things she was going through is not easy but the way she acted was annoying in so many ways. They are a perfect match and it was amazing to see how they both grow through the book, realized their flaws and work on them. Of course, just like the first book there is a bit of a Wynn family drama as well but it was nice to see JP’s point of view on the issue, as well as family members.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. JP and Taylor’s story was captivating, heartwarming, sweet and sexy. I hope we will get a chance to see more of JP and Taylor in the future books. Also, since the first book I am really curious about Everly Wynn and guess what next book in the series ‘Win Big’ is Everly and sexy hockey player Wyatt Bell’s story. It will be release on October 1st and I cannot wait the get my hand on it 🙂
