I love Emma Hart’s writing style. The way she balances humor, drama and emotion in her books are amazing. ‘Accidental Girlfriend’ was really entertaining and got me hooked from the first page. Thanks to meddling family members and friends both Lauren and Mason find their selves in a weird position. Lauren is smart, confident, funny and really beautiful. Thanks to Lauren’s best friends and sister constant bickering about Lauren’s love life or lack of it, Lauren posts an ad online offering her services as a ‘fake date’. She never thought she would get a response to her quirky ad but thanks to Kirsty, who is trying to find a date for his brother to make his ex-fiancée jealous, she got herself a fake date to a high school reunion. Mason is sweet, honest, sexy, loyal and funny guy. Even though, he got burned by his ex-fiancé, he isn’t bitter. He moved on and doesn’t really care about his ex but of course his sister can’t accept this or him going to his 10-year reunion. That is basically how Lauren and Mason end-up on a fake date 🙂 Their chemistry was off the charts since the beginning and their banter was amazing, they are perfect for each other. After their pretty fun and successful fake date, they both go back to their lives but thanks to Kirsty’s meddling, yet again, they have to continue their fake relationship. However, this time their audience is Mason’s family. OMG! What a family he has, they are all hilarious but my favorite is great-aunt Pru.
‘Accidental Girlfriend’ was sweet and funny story that had me laughing out loud through the book. Emma Hart’s writing is hilarious, entertaining and displays some of the greatest banter I ever read. From the beginning to the end, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. If you are looking for a entertaining, light read, this book is just for you.
