‘Washed Up Royal’ by Kim Karr

I love Kim Karr and enjoyed all the books I read from her so no disappointment on my end with this book. When I started reading this book I realized two things. First I haven’t read from Kim Karr for awhile and secondly lately almost all the books I have read was sports romance so this was a nice change.

The story is about royalty of Vespa Isles, which consists of five countries, Alexandria, Eastwood, Casanovia, Wimberly and Catalina. Princess Victoria Blanchette of Alexandria, aka Tori, breaks up with her fiancé Prince Maximus Napoleon Montgomery of Casanovia. They decide friendship is the best option for them. What Tori didn’t know when she decided to leave her fiancé is she cannot crowned as queen out of wedlock. Since the parliament has adjourned for the summer, her only option is to find a suitable royal husband until the end of summer. Tori and her PA Rachel decide best way to find this suitable candidate is to fly to Rhode Island where the royals spend their summers. On her way to Rhode Island, thanks to a rainstorm Tori get stuck in Paris and lucky her she meets with a charming, uber sexy, and totally irresistible guy. Even though it is not princess like behavior, she decides to have a one night with this guy, at the end where will she ever see him again. Lately, the things Prince Adrien Laurent of Eastwood faced wore him out and he decided to get away from everyone and unwind. But his flight gets grounded in Paris so best way to spend his time is to get drunk and this plan puts Tori right next to him. Tori and Adrian spends an amazing night together, what Adrian wasn’t expecting is waking up to an empty bed. Even though, they both wanted to forget about their night together and move on, they couldn’t get their night together out of their minds. Lucky for them they both end up summer playground of royals, Rhode Island.

‘Washed Up Royal’ was fun, interesting, flirty and sweet. I think the only thing I didn’t really enjoyed was ‘The Alexandria Gossiper’ and ‘The Eastwood Examiner’ news report parts. They kind of disturb the flow of the story so after a while I mostly skipped them. I do wish there were more chapters because I am really curious about what happened to King Rutherford. The side characters Rachel, Ava, Truman and Elizabeth were amazing and I am hoping along the way I will get a chance to read their stories too. There are three more stories to come Would be King – Prince Maximus Napoleon Montgomery of Casanovia, Wanna be Heir – Prince Phillip Lexington of Catalina and The Pretend Prince – Prince Julius Churchill Monaco of Wimberly. I cannot wait to read the upcoming royal stories.

  • Would I recommend this book: Yes.
  • Would I re-read this book: Yes.
  • Would I read future books by this author: Yes.
