‘Love Me By Christmas’ by Jaci Burton

‘Love Me By Christmas’ was my pick for The BookBum Club’s December theme: Baby It’s Cold Outside. Jaci Burton is one of my favorite authors and ‘Play by Play’ is one of my favorite sports romance series. ‘Love Me By Christmas’ was my first non-sports romance from her and I enjoyed reading it.

Since the death of her husband’s death five years ago, Christmas is a very difficult time for Ellie Washington. After losing her husband, John, she was all alone and pregnant but thanks to John’s brother Nick, Ellie slowly picked up the pieces of her life and tried to move on. Both Nick and Ellie found comfort with each other’s company and as the time went on, they grew closer. Nick is a mechanic and he is kind, caring, sweet and hot. As for Ellie, she is a delivery nurse. She is caring, sweet and heartbroken. Nick is the kind of hero that you will fall in love instantly but Ellie will get on your nerves and annoy you a bit. As for Ellie’s son Henry, you will fall in love with him 🙂 When Ellie realizes she is feeling more than friendship towards Nick, she starts to pull back because she thinks because of her and Henry, Nick is not really living his life. As a solution to push Nick to have a life outside the house they share, Ellie starts setting him up with her co-workers. Since Nick wants to be with her and she trying to set him up and acting distant really confuses him. But once her guard is down and they act instead of thinking their relationship takes a new spin 🙂 I am not going to give you more details but Nick and Elli’s story was sweet, heartwarming and sad. It is a perfect combination of love, family and friendship. This book is a perfect romance for Christmas time.
