‘Runaway Train’ series introduced me to Katie Ashley. I love her writing style and thanks to her I was hooked to music/rocker romances 🙂 ‘Jacobs Ladder: Gabe’ is the first book of ‘Jacobs Ladder’ series and it can be read as a standalone. If you read ‘Runaway Train’ series you will not be foreign to our hero Gabe Renard. Jacob Ladder is a famous country-rock band. Gabe is the drummer and the songwriter of the band. The other two members of the band is Gabe’s twin Eli and his sister Abby, who is married to lead singer of Runaway Train, Jake Slater.
When Gabe faces a writer’s block and cannot get rid of it, he decides being away from everyone in nature might help so he takes Jake’s jeep off-roading. Who knew taking a wrong-turn, getting stuck in middle of nowhere and calling ‘Hart Wreckers’ for help to get his jeep out will lead him to his muse. Reagan Hart, aka Rea, works for her dad’s wrecking business. Thanks to a Jacobs Ladder fan co-worker, she ends up on going for Gabe’s rescue on her day off. She is smart, beautiful, sassy, hard working single mom, who is not a fan of musicians. Her dislike is caused by abandonment of her mom and rocker baby-daddy. Gabe is cocky, smart and super hot. Since he is a famous rock-star, he thinks all the women will throw their selves to him. When Rea turns down all his advances, his ego takes a big hit. What is more shocking for Gabe is after his encounter with Rea, his writer’s block vanishes and he is determined not to lose his muse until he is done writing all the songs required for the band’s album. So he goes to see with a proposal. Will Rea accept his proposal and help him to achieve his goal? Will Gabe be able to change Rea’s thoughts about musicians? If you want to know the answers to these questions and learn all dirty little deeds you need to read the book 🙂
Overall, ‘Jacobs Ladder: Gabe’ sweet, heartwarming and sexy read that I really enjoyed. Also, Rea’s son Lincoln, aka Linc, is adorable. You will fall in love with his cuteness 🙂 I cannot wait to read Eli’s story. In my mind I kind of paired him up with Kennedy, who is one of Rea’s sisters but this is totally my imagination so don’t count on it LOL!
