I just realized it has been a while since I read from Kylie Scott. ‘Stage Dive’ is one of my favorite series. It was my first rocker series and I think I will be re-reading the series soon 🙂 As for the ‘Trust’, Kylie Scott didn’t disappoint, it was a great read and I couldn’t put it down till I was done.
John Cole is our swoon worthy hero 🙂 He is sweet, handsome, and loyal with a bad boy exterior. His life made me sad, angry and broke my heart. Our heroine is Edith Millen, a.k.a Edie. She is strong and smart but insecure. Even though their lives are completely different, they are both damaged and vulnerable characters. I know you are wondering if their lives are completely different how did they meet? They meet at a local convenience store when they were both being held as hostages during a robbery, which changes their lives. Being 17 years old and facing death changes Edie’s attitude and perspective about life. Edie is a victim of bullying at her private school and after facing death she decides to take control and stand for herself. After her best friends betrayal and not wanting to be a victim of bullying anymore, she decides to transfer to the public high school. What she doesn’t expect is to cross paths with the boy who risked his life to save hers during the robbery. Just like Edie, John’s perspective and expectations of life changes. He decides to change his lifestyle and stop partying and dealing drugs with his brother and start thinking about his future.
After the night of robbery, both Edie and John’s life and character changed. And most people around them even the closest ones cannot understand what is going on. However, both Edie and John can understand and relate to each other because have been through the same things. This understanding starts their friendship and helps their special bond to grow stronger. I loved the way Edie and John’s relationship evolved and they shared a lot of firsts together. Their banter is funny and cute.Hang, Sophia, Carrie and Anders, who are closest friends of Edie and John, are also great. I am hoping maybe we will get a book for Hang and Anders 🙂
‘Trust’ is sweet, swoony, little bit nerve wracking, and hopeful book that you won’t be able put it down until you are done.
