‘Laces and Lace’ by Toni Aleo

‘Laces & Lace’ is a second chance romance and this is the 2nd second chance novel of the ‘Assassins’ series. Karson King and Lacey Martin met in college and fell in love. Karson was playing hockey with Lacey’s brother Grady and that is how Karson met Lacey. The way Karson followed Lacey around in order to convince her to date him was really cute. At the end he convinced her and they fell in love hard and fast but unfortunately their happiness ended after three months because of the choices Karson made. It has been nine years and both Karson and Lacey cannot move past the love they shared. They are both living their dream. Karson is a successful hockey player, who plays for Assassins and Lacey owns her own business, designing lingerie and also help breast cancer survivors like her but something is missing from their lives. They both act like they’re fine but it is just an act. Even though Grady is playing in NHL and he played against Karson many times in the last nine years, Lacey successfully avoided seeing Karson. But one night Lacey finds herself in a cab with Karson and it was like nothing is changed and they weren’t apart for nine years, the chemistry, connection and the love is still the same so after a night of passion they decide to elope. If you believe everything was all rainbows and sunshine, you are mistaken. Everything gets complicated when families gets involve. King family and JT are awesome but Martins suck except Grady, he was kind of cool but Lacey’s dad is an a..hole and supposedly BFF Rachel is a bitch. Karson was great, always supportive of Lacey and fights for their relationship but Lacey drove me crazy in most part of the book. Even though she seemed strong, she wasn’t and she kept hurting Karson because she was influenced by Rachel or her dad.

‘Laces & Lace’ is emotional, sexy, and heartwarming second chance romance. If you enjoyed ‘Assassins’ series, you will definitely enjoy this book. If you didn’t read ‘Assassins’ yet, I recommend you to start ASAP.
