Lucas Brooks and Fallon Parker fell in love in CA when Fallon was attending Stanford and Lucas was playing for Sharks. They were dating for two years and everything went down the drain because of Lucas’s mistake. Fallon didn’t give him a chance to explain and she ran back to her hometown, Nashville. When she ran, she wasn’t alone, she had bun in the oven, which Lucas never knew about 😦
Seven years pasts after their break up and Fallon is working for her family’s wine company, Rocky Top Wines. She is close friends with Elli, owner of Assassins and Rocky Top Wines is one of the sponsors for Assassins. Everything gets complicated when Lucas gets traded to Assassins and moves to Nashville. When Fallon gets the news about Lucas’s trade, she freaks out because she has been keeping a huge secret from him and it will be impossible to keep this secret when he is in town.
Lucas is loving, patient, romantic and really sexy. He has never stopped loving Fallon and he is looking forward to see her again. He knows that he screwed up in the past but he wants Fallon back and ready to do anything for forgiveness. Fallon is one of the most frustrating heroines ever. She complains and whines all the time. Yeah, Lucas made mistakes but WTF! She freaking hid his son for 7 years and I hate how can she be such a bitch to him all the time. She cannot really let go of the past and having really hard time forgiving Lucas. Even though, they both still love each other, their relationship feels like a rollercoaster ride. I love the chemistry and banter between these two. But my favorite character in the book is the Lucas’s mini me, aka secret baby, Aiden. He is so cute and sweet. If you are looking for a sweet, heartbreaking, second chance love story, you should read ‘Trying to Score’.

P.S. I loved the way Elli and Shea keeps popping out in the story 🙂 It was nice to see how Elli and Shea’s marriage going. No worries, this will keep happening through the series. You will keep reading more about the previous characters because Assassins are a huge family 🙂
