Blue Lines is the 4th book of the ‘Assassins’ series and our hero and heroine for the book is Erik Titov and Piper Allen. If you already read the previous books you already know who are they but here is the short version. In the first book you met with Harper Allen and Jakob Titov. Piper is Harper’s sister and Erik is Jakob’s brother. Since the moment Piper met Erik, she has been in love with him but not once Erik showed any interest until one night in Wanna B’s. After flirting and dancing all night, Erik and Piper leave the club together and share a passionate night, which only brings Piper more heartbreak.
Erik is a young hockey star and he is known as a man-whore. He always knew that Piper was a good girl and he needs to stay away from her. But one moment of weakness leads to a night he cannot forget. Erik cannot get Piper out of his mind and in hopes of forgetting her, he starts sleeping with every woman in Nashville. However, when his man-whorish ways start hurting Assassins family-oriented team image, Elli steps in and tells Erik either cleanup his image or say good bye to his hockey career. OMG! Let me tell you this, in each book I fell more in love with Elli and Shea 🙂 They’re always there to protect and help their family and friends. So back to Piper and Erik. Piper is six months pregnant and other than Elli and Audrey no one knows about her pregnancy. When Piper tells Erik, he freaks out. But then he comes up with a plan of ‘fake marriage’ and Piper agrees with his plan hoping that she can change Erik’s mind and live happily-ever-after with him.
After they get married, they start living together and it is really hard for both of them because Piper is still in love with Erik and after staying away from Piper for months it is hard for Erik to be with her all the time. So their relationship is full of ups and downs. I really hated Erik at the beginning of the book but after reading his thoughts and more about his childhood, my heart hurt for him. He is so broken and scared of being loved or loving someone. Will Erik allow Piper and his baby to heal him? That is for you to find out.
It was a great story that gives a great example of never giving up hope and moving on from the past and learn to trust and love the people around you. I really enjoyed the ‘Blue Lines’, if you still didn’t start reading Assassins, I totally recommend you to start 🙂
