There’s just something magical about slipping back into Helena Hunting’s Shacking Up world—like returning to a favorite romcom universe where the banter is sharp, the chemistry is blazing, the characters feel like old friends, and the humor hits exactly when you need it. Handle With Care gives all of that and more, wrapping Lincoln Moorehead and Wren Sterling into a workplace-romance, enemies-to-lovers delight that had me smiling, swooning, and occasionally wanting to karate-chop Armstrong right alongside Wren.
Lincoln has always been the mysterious Moorehead brother—the one mentioned in whispers, the one we never truly saw. Well, now he steps front and center, and oh my goodness… it was worth the wait. He’s grumpy, rugged, unexpectedly soft-hearted, and absolutely not interested in taking over the family company. But fate—and a very determined grandmother—has other plans.
Enter Wren Sterling: PR fixer, emotional wrangler, chaos manager, and woman who deserves the kind of raise Armstrong should pay for personally. She’s fierce, brilliant, buttoned-up, and absolutely not here to babysit a stubborn mountain man. Except… she is. And from their very first clash, you can feel the sparks.
Their dynamic is everything I love about Helena’s couples: delicious tension, effortless back-and-forth, laughter in the most chaotic moments, and a slow shift from irritation to trust to something neither of them can deny. Wren and Lincoln complement each other in a way that feels organic—she grounds him, he softens her edges, and together, they become this powerhouse duo you can’t help rooting for.
What really sets this book apart is how Helena blends humor with heart. We get corporate drama, family secrets, emotional vulnerability, and then Armstrong doing Armstrong things (you’ll laugh, you’ll cringe, you’ll maybe even feel a hint of sympathy—maybe). The story never loses its momentum, and even with the heavier moments, it remains utterly charming. And once Lincoln and Wren finally give in to their chemistry? It is sweet, steamy, and completely satisfying.
As someone who has adored this series from the beginning, Handle With Care felt like the perfect send-off. I’m genuinely going to miss this world of Millses and Mooreheads and their wildly entertaining antics. Helena Hunting has such a talent for creating romcoms that feel vibrant, emotional, and endlessly fun—and Lincoln and Wren’s story is another gem to add to the collection.
If you’re looking for a swoony, smart, low-angst romance with characters who steal your heart from page one, this book is an absolute must-read.
