I am in awe of Sawyer Bennett. I read most of her books, but Paranormal/Fantasy wasn’t something I was expecting her to write but she truly nailed it. Thanks to my starting time to read new releases which are almost always after work led me to another sleepless night but it was all worth it. After I devoured The Revelation of Light and Dark and was shocked by the cliffhanger since this wasn’t something I am used to seeing from Sawyer Bennett, I was dying to get more of this fantastic world. So, what I did? I went to check when the second book was going to release, and I realize there is another book, Clash of Yesterday, in the series so around 2 am I purchased that one and start reading it. Even though this review is not for Clash of Yesterday, let me tell you I am in love with Eliana and Ronan, who are hero and heroine of the book. I am pretty sure we will be seeing more of them in the future books of the series and I cannot wait for it 🙂 As for The Revelation of Light and Dark, I was not sure what I should say or not say about the book so that I didn’t spoil the story for you guys that is why I am constantly going back and read the synopsis 🙂 So bear with me and hopefully, I will not give too many details to spoil the story for you.
Since childhood Finley Porter always felt different, she was able to see what others couldn’t. Unfortunately, since she was the only person who can see things, the visions started to become a problem when she was getting older. Everyone around her thought she had mental issues so after a while she realized the best way was to try to ignore the visions. Finley is sweet, genuine, strong, and seems a bit introvert. She dropped out of college and now works at a coffee shop and enjoy what she does. On the other hand, her twin Fallon has a successful business and personal life, she is a bit of a social butterfly. When Fallon guilt trips Finley to attend an opening at her gallery, the only thing Finley can do is go and be there for Fallon. Since social gatherings are not really Finley’s thing, she is making plans of leaving the gallery at a fashionable acceptable time 🙂 However, she has no idea that her whole life will move from its axis after meeting an enigmatic and infuriating CEO, Carrick Byrne. Carrick is one of the most successful and powerful businessmen. He is mysterious, cold, and distant. After meeting Carrick, Finley will learn about a whole new world about Gods, Deamons, Light Faes, Dark Feas she never knew existed. With the help of Carrick she will also finally start getting some answers to her visions. On their journey to reveal more about Finley’s talent or curse, we also get a chance to see many faces like Titus, Zaid, Maddox, Lucien, who you will want to know more about.
Even though it took me a while to get into the story, but after chapter four or so, I was hooked. The Revelation of Light and Dark was a thrilling, mysterious, and addictive story. I also have a question for Ms. Bennett, WHY there is a cliffhanger, just why? I am sooo not used to cliffhangers in your books and suspense is killing me. This is torture, a good one but still one LOL! Cannot wait to get my hands on A Discovery of Secrets and Fate which will be released on March 2nd and this time I am ready for the cliffhanger 😀
