‘Blitz’ by Bella Scully

‘Blitz’ is my first Bella Scully book, which I enjoyed reading. Finn Kane and Mia Meadows are childhood best friends who lost contact. Mia is Finn’s first and only love that got away so when he runs into her in college, he is determined to make her his. But there is a slight problem with his plan Mia doesn’t remember his childhood best friend and the version of Finn she knows, she is not a fan.

Finn Kane, a.k.a King Kane, is the quarterback of the Tennison University football team. Other than football he is also known as a lady’s man. He is sexy, bossy, possessive and really cocky. Mia is determined, smart, pretty and introverted. She is spending her life between classes, library and home. Her roommate, Kim, the Sparkle Fairy, seems like her only connection to social life. Kim can be really persuasive / annoying /meddling so when Kim decides that they are going to Finn/Nick’s party, Mia has no other chance other than to accept. Finn is on a mission to win Mia back and he’ll do whatever it takes. During the party he takes the first step, but because Mia doesn’t remember anything relating Finn, she thinks he is crazy and cannot understand why he is not leaving her alone. They are both attracted to each other. Finn is ready to act on it but it takes some persuasion from Kim for Mia to give in. Through out the book Finn prepares surprise dates and gives her some clues that might help her to remember their time together, which are really cute.  But Mia being so clueless is kind of annoying and her ‘push & pull’ attitude was frustrating. There were small things about the writing style that I didn’t really enjoy and some things about the time flow of the story got me confused but overall, I enjoyed Finn and Mia’s story. ‘Blitz’ is a sweet and hopeful second chance romance that is a quick and easy read.

  • Would I recommend this book: Yes
  • Would I re-read this book: Maybe later
  • Would I read future books by this author: Yes

P.S. Even though Kim gets annoying most of the times, I would really like to read Kim and Nick’s story. So I am crossing my fingers that they will get their story too.
